Card Readers are devices that read information on a smart card to allow access or permission to a certain area or building. If you have certain areas in your building that need restricted access, a card reader would read the access card or device and determine if that person is allowed in that space.

Card Readers work in conjunction with bigger access control and alarm systems. They are generally connected to a bigger control center that monitors all access points on the system.
